Hi Everyone!
(LoL!) I love how I say everyone when no one knows about my blog! Well I thought I'd give you a quick update to my happenings!
A lot has happened since the end of the semester!!
First I went to Alaska with my cruise class at Chico State. I had a fabulous time with Lisa and made a bunch of new friends. Learned that I never want to live on a cruise ship for long term, however I like the industry very much. I saw spectacular sights in Glacier Bay, went zip-lining in Juneau, saw bald eagles at the raptor center in Sitka, Kayaked Ketchikan and got to visit the bars for the first time in VICTORIA, CANADA!!! For those of you who arent aware: Canada's drinking age is 19 which made me eligible to spend way too much of my hard saved cash on fru fru cocktails. But I believe the experience was worth it to test the limits and prepare myself for Australia. I'd have to say my favorite part about our cruise on Holland America was relaxing in the Hot Tub while gazing at majestic mountains and Ice Walls! (Can you believe I got a tan on an Alaska cruise!) Our weather was phonemenal, and we got college credit for going!
Ok ok enough about AK, right after Alaska I came home and jammed out of my apartment in Chico. After a hearfelt goodbye with my YL girls and CSU Chico girlfriends! I came straight home to craziness and cold weather. Did an about face and hopped into the truck to go camping and wakeboarding at Folsom lake with all our high school buddies plus a few Chico friends.
We had a blast out on the water with two boats! My biggest accomplishment was learning to wakesurf on Des' boat. We ate some good food and I about peed my pants when woody wood made heather pretend we were getting robbed at our campsite! I'm glad the boys let some girls join the annual camping trip and hopefully it will be a tradition for years to come!
Monday after camping weekend I came back to my old posistion at Blackhawk Network with my amazing boss and mentor Amie Miller/Petersen! It is amazing to be back at work although there have been many changes! Christin is engaged!! Black always feels like home and everybody is so welcoming.
I've had some time to catch up with old buddies like Laurie and Janae but still have many I want to see. We went to a few graduation parties and the rodeo in the first weekend of June.
Last friday I got to play hookie from work (with Amie's permission) and go hiking in Yosemite with David's family. We climbed vernal falls and had fun in the mist and in the Valley. On they way home we stopped by Rainbow pools and everybody jumped off the cliffs! Sunday was father's day and we got to eat sushi with dad and watch movies and later went to the fire station to see Jim with David.
Now I'm back at work trying to focus and failing. Australia is on my mind, I still have a lot of prep and packing to do before July 14th but I'm so anxious to be there! Surfers paradise is going to be amazing!
Now its off to visit Auntie Vi and Uncle Dick in Napa and Rhode Island for a week with David's family.
As the Aussies say:
CHEERS!
:D
